Stanley Clarence O'Neal, 93, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Stanley was born December 6, 1929, in Illmo, Missouri, son of the late Clarence Oscar and Marie Kinder O'Neal. He and Nancy Anne Dawson were married June 20, 1965, at the First Baptist Church in New Florence, Missouri. Their union blessed them with two children, Mark and Anne. Nancy survives of the home in Jackson.
Stanley graduated from Fornfelt High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University until he entered the United States Army Air Force. After his honorable discharge, Stanely continued his education at the University of Missouri where he earned his bachelor's degree in agriculture. He was co-owner of Barks & O'Neal Equipment Company in Sikeston and also co-owner of Sikeston Livestock Feeders. He then worked for BASF as an agriculture chemical sales representative for many years. Stanley and his wife owned and operated Tonanzio's restaurant in Farmington from 1967 until 2007. He also enjoyed cattle farming.
Stanley was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmington, a member of the Harold O. Grauel Lodge No. 672 A.F. & A.M., where he earned his Fifty-Year pin, as well as the Scottish Rite in St. Louis.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, of 58 years, Stanley is survived by his two children, Mark (Joey) O'Neal of Jackson, and their two daughters Riley and Bailey O'Neal; and Anne (Fred) Lerche of Springfield, Missouri and their son, Evan Lerche; and; a sister, Evelyn McClintock of Jackson; a nephew, Jim (Debbie) McClintock of Columbia, Missouri; and a niece, Sharon (Dennis) Bucher of Jackson.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 10 AM - 11 AM at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Funeral service will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in Farmington.
