Stanley Smith

Stanley Wade Smith, 63, of Jackson passed away Friday, May 20, 2022 at his home.

He was born October 4, 1958 in Patagonia, Arizona the son of Charles and Bonnie Smith. 

Stan was a 1977 graduate of Jackson High School. He was employed 22 years at Procter and Gamble retiring in February 2021. In his spare time, Stan enjoyed reading, woodworking, and spending time with his family. He loved animals, especially his cats. He enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Loving survivors include his mother Bonnie, his children Richard (Carol) Smith of Norcross, Georgia and Daniel (DJ) Smith of Hanover, Maryland; 2 grandchildren, Amelia and Alex; six siblings, Michael Keith (Kathy) Smith of Kansas City, Missouri, Melinda (Steve) Standridge of Paducah, Kentucky, Curtis (Stephanie) Smith of Jackson, Allen (Cheryl) Smith of Venice, Florida, Monique (Kevin) Roberts of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Melissa (Toby) Honeycutt of Jackson; his former wife Linda Wooten of Jackson, 17 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews.

Stan was preceded in death by his father Charles Smith and his sister-in-law Mary Smith.

Visitation will be from 4:00- 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday May 26, 2022 at the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Roberts officiating.  Interment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. 

Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Southeast Missouri Pets (formerly the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri) or to Compassion International (an organization for impoverished children).
