Steven Wayne Rector

Steven Wayne Rector , 49, of Cape Girardeau,  passed away  Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at his home.

He was born Feb. 21, 1971, in Poplar Bluff, MO, son of Jerry Rector and Cathy Womack Metzger.  He and Kelli Seabaugh were married April 30, 2018.  She survives.

Steven was employed at Columbia Construction as a cabinet maker.  He enjoyed wood working, being outdoors, and cooking, but especially spending time with his family.

Loving survivors include his wife, Kelli, his daughter; Maddie Seabaugh of Cape, his son; Justin ( Danielle ) Nelson of St. Louis, one granddaughter: Jayna; his mother: Cathy Metzger of Cape, his brother: Jerry (Casey) Rector of Oklahoma City, OK; his sister: Katie (David) Ivester of Chaffee, MO; his father and mother in-law: Randy and Cheryl Seabaugh of Jackson;  many nieces, nephews, and friends.

 He was preceded in death by his father: Jerry Rector.

Steven’s Memorial Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, from 5-7 pm at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau  His Memorial Service will be Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at 7 pm, at the Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wavis Jordan  officiating.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
