Thomas "Marty" Evans

Thomas Martin "Marty" Evans, 62, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at his residence in Jackson, Missouri.

Marty was born on May 10, 1961 in Sikeston, Missouri, to the late Thomas H. and Glenda Louise Rister Evans. He married the love of his life, Debbie Welter on August 9, 2008, who survives of the home.

Marty spent a number of years working at Malone & Hyde Grocery Distributors before joining Artco, a division of ADM. He had recently retired after 30 years as a First Mate from the boat the Cooperative Enterprise.

To say Marty never met a stranger is an understatement, he loved people and to know him was to love him. He loved a good joke and telling stories with family and friends. He had a deep affection for his furry companions, Hudson, Hugo, and Hank, who he referred to as "his boys". He was of the Baptist faith.

Also left to cherish his memory is a daughter Ashley Evans of Bolivar, MO, Sisters Debbie (Mike) Nelson, and Kathie (David Masilnski) McGee both of Blodgett, MO, a brother Joel (Amy) Evans of Sikeston and four grandchildren; Will Evans, Katilyn (Andrew) Winders, Kylie and Teren Eskew. Along with many nieces and nephews who all loved him very much.

He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Matthew "Matt" Evans.

A private family service will be take place at a later date

The family requests memorials be made to the Blodgett Cemetery Perpetual Care fund at P.O. Box 91 Blodgett, MO 63824.
