Verna Geneva Dye, 73, of Jackson passed away April 19, 2020 at her home in Jackson.
She was born March 17, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, daughter of Forrest and Dorothy Whitehead Williams. She and Gary Dye were married March 20, 1965.
Verna was a giving person, she was proud to care for her two children and any of their friends that came into their home or anyone else that may have been in need. She also took a special love to her poodles. Verna was a dedicated and skilled seamstress having worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory and Hancock Fabrics and several other sewing companies. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Loving survivors include husband of 55 years; two children Jeff Dye and Victoria Watkins both of Jackson and one sister Lesa Williams of Pleasantville, Nebraska.
Also surviving are five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and 1 sister.
The family will honor Verna with a private graveside service on Thursday, April 23, 2020 in New Morley Cemetery with Rev. Jim Matthews officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
