Wanda Louise Petrus, 94, of Marble Hill, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.
She was born October 7, 1926 in Millersville, daughter of William L. “Willie” and Leila A. Cook Smith.
She was married to Virgil Petrus. He preceded her in death February 17, 1994.
Wanda was raised near Sedgewickville in Bollinger County. She moved to St. Louis and went to work for Central States Paper and Bag Company and later transferred to New York and Florida. In Florida, she was employed as a line supervisor for General Electric Company, retiring in 1994. She moved to Marble Hill in 2013.
Survivors include a daughter, Gloria (Bernard) Estanope of Pomona Park, Florida; a son Dennis (Fay) Turbeville of Marble Hill; Grandchildren: Juanita Burkes and her daughter, Chrissy; Gary Burkes; Jackie Baggett and her sons, Tristan and T. R.; Mike (Elizabeth) Turbeville and their children Cassie and Josh; Scott (Brandi) Turbeville and their daughter Maleigh; the children of her late grandson, Tim, Alyssa, and Taylor Turbeville; the children of her late granddaughter, Julia, Johnny and Julian; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Tim Turbeville; a granddaughter, Julie Finley; and three brothers, Bill, Dewel and Gene Smith.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, September 13, 2021, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Burial is private at Cook Cemetery in Scopus.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
