Wilma (Mungle) Kester

Wilma Kester, 84, of Jackson, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023, at her residence.
Wilma was born December 3, 1938, in Burfordville, Missouri, daughter of the late George and Birdie Smith Mungle. She and Fate Kester were married June 25, 1960, in Friedheim, Missouri. He preceded her in death July 12, 1997.
Wilma worked for Deal Nursing for 36 years. Her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren were her everything.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Betty McIntyre of Perryville; two grandsons, Justen McIntyre and Jacob McIntyre, both of Jackson; five great-grandchildren, Dakota McIntyre of Kentucky, Mariah McIntyre of Jackson, Cameron McIntyre of Perryville, Madison McIntyre of Perryville, and Noah Smiley of Golconda, Illinois; and four siblings, Mary Bowers of Jackson, Mae Byerley of Poplar Bluff, Shirley Eddleman of Burfordville; and David Mungle of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Larry; and a granddaughter, Shannon.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 4-7 PM at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Old Salem Cemetery near Daisy, Missouri.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
