We lost our dad July 16, 2023. He was 70 and it was so unexpected. He broke his hip and fought for his life. Then he tested positive for COVID-19 and lost the battle.

We contacted Rick at McCombs funeral home to make arrangements to lay our Dad to rest. During our first meeting with Rick, he informed us that there was a program called COVID-19 FEMA reimbursement. That’s when he made a call and put us in contact with Lisa. Rick made sure every detail we asked for was a success.

We then had a meeting with Lisa about the FEMA program. Lisa informed us of everything we had to do and what we needed. She had everything for us and she handled the phone calls, emails and faxes. During this time it was such a blessing to have people who have truly found their calling like these beautiful souls at McCombs funeral home.

Each and everyone at McCombs funeral home let us know every step of what to expect. Every phone call or meeting .Lisa even asked about friends and families that she met during the journey shows she really does care for each person that walks in McCombs funeral home. She is totally amazing.

I cannot express how grateful and appreciated I am of the wonderful staff at McCombs funeral home in Jackson MO. The kind of compassion and understanding they have is a true gift. They helped with every detail of planning and were so supportive through every hard decision. Very unexpectedly we lost my father and during one of the most heartbreaking times they were there every step of the way to provide the best care and service.

I especially have to give a big thank you to Lisa Craft. It takes a special kind of person to do what she does and she does it with the upmost compassion and support. I have needed assistance multiple times since my dad's passing and everytime Lisa was a true angel and helped me pick out the most beautiful and meaningful memorial piece to honor my father.

I also want to thank Jeff Craft. We had a special request to honor my dad's wishes and he went above and beyond to help us make it happen.

I cannot thank McCombs Funeral Home enough for their assistance in helping us plan my brother’s funeral in Feb., 2023. Lisa Craft was so helpful later helping my sister-in-law and myself with our own pre-burial plans to make things a little easier for our own families. Unfortunately, my sister-in-law passed in Sept., 2023 and again Lisa was there to assist us. She is a huge asset to McCombs. Her love, compassion, organizational skills and attention to detail are beyond EXCELLENT. Thanks to Lisa and all the staff for how they helped us through this journey. And I cannot forget to mention Bruce Dockins. He has served our family for many years and we greatly appreciate him.

Two years ago, devastation hit our family. Within a 7 month time frame my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law‘s dad, and my dad passed away. So needless to say I spent a lot of time at McCombs Funeral Home. From the first time I had to walk in everyone was amazing. They were so very careful with us. We were not just another family coming through. I honestly felt like we were the only family they had to take care of.

So many important decisions has to be made at a time in your life that you are at your lowest. The McCombs family were all there to make sure what needed to be done got done and to meet the needs of the family. Not only the needs for us but making sure your loved one was remembered in the way you wanted.

Ms. Lisa Craft was a gem.

She said to me more than once. This is the last thing you are able to do for your daddy. You can do whatever you want and I am here to help you. And oh my did she ever!!! She spent so much time working with me at the office and after hours getting my dad’s memorial card perfect. And Perfect it was. As she did the same for me just 7 months prior with my mother-in-law. As very hard of a day this was Ms. Lisa loved me throughout it. She helped me when I didn’t know what to do. When I couldn’t get the words to come out.

She was there to talk, to listen, to hug and even to cry with me. I could not have done it without her. There is and will always be a special part of my heart just for her.

When I lost my husband the staff was very helpful and went above and beyond to help in any way that they could. They made you feel like you belonged and were very comforting.

I ordered some jewelry from a great lady, Lisa Craft, she has been very helpful this this whole process. And to this day we still talk every now and then. The jewelry I picked out for myself and my children are wonderful. I highly recommend getting a memorial gift of your loved one. 😊

Lisa Craft has been such a blessing when making pre-arrangements. She is so experienced and very knowledgeable. She always takes a lot of focused time with me during our meetings. A few weeks after meeting Lisa, my Dad passed away unexpectedly and Lisa was beyond helpful in assisting with the arrangements and (in my case) so much paperwork. She is so detailed and organized. She really doesn’t miss a beat. But best of all, Lisa is friendly, kind and very personable.

Mr. Ivan Statler was our funeral director and he was so kind and compassionate. A very sweet gentleman and the service was beautiful.

I can not say enough about Lisa Craft from McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Missouri. From the moment you walk through the door until the last step out of the door she shows such compassion. It's like she is part of your family- but it's the first time we've met.

She is so calm, and very good at her job! She is very thorough.

When filling out paperwork with us - she was receiving phone calls and helping coworkers and did it all with such grace and giving us all the same amount of attention.

Then when I think all is done -
she sends a little text to check in and see how I'm doing a few weeks/months later.

Years ago, my parents and I went to McCombs to start the Prearrangement process. With my father’s health failing in late Fall 2022, I met with Lisa Craft at McCombs to see what had not been completed. She was so helpful walking me through our past decisions, gathering needed information, and helping me proceed in the right direction so that my parents’ wishes were realized. Within a month my father passed and Lisa and Ivan helped me and my mother plan a beautiful service with military honors for my father. My daughter had written a tribute to her grandfather which I sent to Lisa. Lisa and Liz loved it and printed it in a beautiful brochure so those at the service could appreciate it also! My siblings and mother were very pleased with the service. By that point I had made a new friend in Lisa. She also helped me with what were my next steps regarding the VA, Social Security, and so on – that was such a big help for me.

Little did I know that three months later I would be contacting Lisa again professionally. My siblings and I suffered the unexpected loss of our mother. Christi sat down with me and went over the plans in place. Christi, Lisa, and Liz all helped to personalize my mother’s service with photos of my mother and her beloved flowers, along with another beautifully printed tribute.

After losing my father, Lisa informed me about the Keepsake Jewelry and that I could place an order at any time if I were interested. I did place an order after losing my mother. The charm has both of their fingerprints and I love having it. It is beautiful and means so much to me.

Everyone at McCombs is so very supportive and helped me through a very difficult time. I have nothing but respect and appreciation for everything they do!

My sisters and I want to let you know that you are very much appreciated.

We have always relied on McCombs Funeral Home in our time of need in the loss of a family member. We have always entrusted Rick Guilliams for assistance in the arrangements, although I’m sure any of the staff would be capable. Rick has always genuinely concerned and kind to us.

Recently, when our mother passed from the complications from COVID-19. Mom's insurance had already paid for funeral expenses. But we had heard that FEMA was reimbursing funeral costs for those who died from COVID-19. My sisters and I started gathering documents we thought we would need...between the three of us, some were missing some of the information and struggling with the process of filing.

One afternoon my sister and I reached out to McCombs Funeral Home and spoke with Lisa. She was able to aide us with some of the pieces we were missing in our process of filing for the FEMA COVID-19 reimbursement. We sat up an appointment with Lisa...and by the time we left, we felt confident that we were on the right track with the filing for the FEMA COVID-19 reimbursement benefits.

We feel that Lisa went way beyond what we could have every expected. She aided us in the areas that we needed assistance on to file, faxed, and mailed documents for us to FEMA.

The FEMA application went smoothly as we did not have to do anything else, everything needed was submitted the first time. Recently, we received notification of the FEMA COVID-19 benefits had been issued. Although, the reimbursement does not take the place of our dear mother; the reimbursement was unexpected and will be put to good use in other places needed.

My sisters and I want to thank Lisa Craft, for your help. Lisa, you went way beyond to help our family out even after services for our mother had been completed. We would recommend McCombs to anyone; they are at the top of their league.

During a stressful and grim time of loss of my husband due to COVID-19 we needed assistance in the final arrangements for my husband. McCombs did a beautiful job with his service. The service that McCombs provided did not end when Olin's service was completed. Lisa was there to provide direction and assistance in taking care of filing for FEMA benefits. This process was challenging process as there was additional information requested, Lisa never left our side. She worked as if it was for one of her own family members. What she did helped me and my family. Lisa truly has a passion and love for helping others.

Due to the recent loss of my son, Steven Walker, we were introduced to the staff of McCombs Funeral Parlor. These folks are kind, caring, patient and most of all helpful. They did not rush us to make decisions. They did not rush the large group of people who came to pay respects and offer condolences. They provided my family with a care filled experience at a very difficult time. Thank you to all of the people at McCombs Jackson.

I want to thank Rick and the staff for everything they did for us. After my mil passed away 10 yrs ago we said we would come back when the time comes. We lost my wonderful FIL who took me as his own. We are at our private graveyard and said goodbye one last time. If you are looking for a place where you are family this is the funeral home you want from start to finish.

This place is absolutely AMAZING!!! They took care of everything for me the services, the cremation, the jefferson barracks set-up. The whole 9yards. They even had to put things on hold for me because I had to go to Texas because my Mother passed away 9 days after my father. So when i came back, they helped me finish up everything. I even ordered a keepsake ring. I wanted a piece of jewelry and necklaces are hard for me to wear. So I purchased an oval ring that has his fingerprint and his ashes. When Lisa brought it out to show me and I absolutely love it!!! I cried so hard!! I can literally run my finger in top of it and feel his finger print. It’s so calming to me. It’s like holding his hand, and rubbing my finger over his. I am in love and cried so hard because I have a ring from my mother and my fathers ring right next to each other on the same hand. I just look at my daddy’s ring and just rubbing my finger across the top of it…just so calming to me. I have a piece of my daddy with me forever now

I wanted a Personal Expressions Keepsake jewelry piece as a remembrance of my grandfather, William Colman. I was surprised when Lisa said “Pick out what you want and do not be concerned with anything, including pricing. No questions please 😊” I proceed with the heart pendant with my grandfathers prints on the front with a cherished photo of us. Lisa made the decision simple and took care of everything needed in the ordering and the production process. I received a proof before my pendant was produced which was nice because I had the opportunity to choose which font style, I liked the best.

When the order arrived, she contacted my stepmom, who was behind the scenes in purchasing the pendant along with my stepsister as a remembrance gift for me. To my surprise my stepmom called to advise me that I must go by McCombs Funeral Home to see Lisa. When I arrived, there was a nice gift bag awaiting my arrival with my Personal Expression Keepsake pendant nicely placed inside.

When I opened the package that my Personal Keepsake Pendant was in my heart swelled with joy and sadness all at the same time, I felt like I had a part of my Paw Paw with me. I want to start by saying that this was a difficult time for me, but knowing Lisa from back in school, made the whole situation and process a lot easier for myself and my two sisters, all being from Jackson. Lisa tended to us beyond belief! My Dad was to be delivered all the way to NY to be beside my Mother in her resting place, and she made that happen for all of the us, it is greatly appreciated! My hats off to her, I highly recommend any service needed with McCombs, I can only hope they would do the same for myself when the time has come for me to be to be in the pearly gates.

When I lost my husband I had no idea what to do. Ivan at McCombs funeral home helped me make all the arrangements and I was so please how it all turned out. After the funeral Lisa at McCombs was my angel. She helped me with what to do at the Social Security Office and at the VA. She made phone calls for me and when way out of her way to help me. They are all such a caring staff of people.

A year ago, I lost a dear friend to a sudden death. His family was from the Chicago area and had no previous experience with McCombs. Lisa worked with them and made sure everything was ready for them when they arrived in Jackson. She was a wonderful friend to me as well, making sure to take care of all the personal details for his arrangements that I wanted for him.
Lisa is a wonderful liaison for McCombs; she is always professional, but also demonstrates compassionate and caring for those dealing with the loss of a loved one.
I do not know how I would have been able to get through my terrible loss without my friend, Lisa, being there for me every step of the way.

The most heart breaking task I have ever faced was making funeral arrangements for my husband. I had heard compliments on McCombs Funeral Home so when it came time to make pre-arrangements for my aunt. She suggested McCombs. When the time came for her service the pre-arrangement information that McCombs already had on file made things so smooth, even with her passing being in another state.
We were pleased on every aspect of the services. From the time that we called in to advise of our loved ones passing, to working with the staffing to finalize the final arrangments, to posting photos of our loved one on her obituary page on McCombs web-site. So, I see why McCombs Funerla Home is so well spoken of. They were compassionate, yet professional, from the pre-need, at-need, and completion of the services.
